Helping a Hurting Trucker - Medical Emergency

Hello all, this fundraiser is for something every family of a cross country truck driver fears. Them falling ill and in critical condition with no family around for thousands of miles.

My father has had a 26-year career in truck driving. While he has been able to supply stores through the pandemic with goods, the recent outburst has put him in critical condition in Florida. We have no family or friends for thousands of miles (we all live in Las Vegas and Los Angeles) and are paying daily to ensure his truck and belongings are staying safe. He is currently fighting a severe case of COVID-induced pneumonia and has been hospitalized for 13 days. For the past seven of these days, he has been intubated (as of 12/26/21).

We are hoping and praying for a holiday miracle and as we all know, hospital bills know no bounds. On top of the hospital bills, we are desperately trying to keep his truck safe and maintain our household as well. With my father being an independent contractor, the insurance and general truck maintenance also all comes out of pocket. We are relying on the goodwill of the trucking community, family, and friends to help pull us through these extremely difficult times and hope to get some financial relief with this GoFundMe.

We will be posting updates of Michael's condition as we hear from the nurse. We are standing by and call the hospital daily for updates. Below is the current timeline of his condition.

12/13 - Enters hospital with a severe case of covid induced Pneumonia

12/19 - Oxygen levels fall critically low and intubation ensues

12/25 - Has been intubated for 7 days with hopes of extubation soon but no promises. Has been able to keep vitals stable but is fighting intubation.

12/26 - Oxygen and sedation levels have been lowered a little bit more but still no timeline for extubation
