As many of you know, our beloved Gregory Fink has been fighting the toughest battle of his life. After 14 days in Intensive Care, Greg underwent critical brain surgery this past Saturday, March 21st, in Cartagena, Colombia to remove a complex 9mm x 14mm dissecting aneurysm in his right vertebral artery.
Today, we are beyond grateful to share that the surgery was a complete success. The doctors are calling it a miracle—and as those who know him can attest, Greg is a true fighter.
Greg has dedicated his entire life to serving others. As a retired New York City Police Officer and a devoted father to Dylan, Nicole, Brandon, and Charlotte, his heart has always been with his family and community. His passion for sports led him to become a cornerstone of the soccer community as a director and coach at Southampton Town United. For over 18 years, through the South Fork United Foundation, he has led domestic and international humanitarian missions to support those most in need, teaching our youth the value of empathy and social responsibility.
Now, it is our turn to support the man who has given so much to so many and has always been there for those in need.
While the surgery was a monumental first step, the road ahead remains long. Greg will stay in the ICU for another week and will require strict medical monitoring for at least a month before he is cleared to travel back home to New York. The medical costs, specialized care, and recovery logistics are significant.
We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love from our family, friends, the NYPD, other Police departments around the country, the Colombian National Police and the soccer community locally and around the world. We are now asking for your help to ensure Greg can focus entirely on healing. Any donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward his medical expenses and long-term recovery care.
Thank you for standing by us and for showing Greg the same love and dedication he has shown the world for decades. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
