Helping a great well known mechanic to heal!

Dear Family & Friends -
This past year with my brother's (Richard Nichols) medical problems has been a journey for him and his children.
Last year he required open-heart surgery to replace a valve that he would learn was a heart defect from childhood that he never knew he had.
5 months after his heart surgery he developed blood clots that would require more surgery. The surgeons would have to take veins out of his leg for once again another heart surgery to correct the problem.
After the 2nd surgery and a lot of time off work. Richard tried to return to work and after 3 short days ended up back in the hospital because of an infection that had developed throughout his body. The infection was preventing the leg from healing and amputation was a topic for discussion.
Richard and I both suffer from a hereditary blood cancer disease called “polycythemia vera”.
This has also caused delays in healing.
It was decided to hold off as long as possible for amputation, but because the infection was so aggressive it went to Richards's brain causing numerous strokes. He has severe memory loss
Richard spent almost 2 months in the hospital, most of that in ICU.
He is now in a care facility in St. Louis where professionals are working to get his leg healed and work with his memory.
In the meantime, I have spent every waking moment trying to get him on disability. He will not be able to go back to work.
His fund ran out a very long time ago and he is behind because of no income coming in.
This Go Fund Me has been set up to help pay his mortgage - utilities and various other bills that need to be addressed immediately.
If it's in your heart to help, it would be deeply appreciated.
Thank you
Lori (his sister) & Kristy (his daughter)
