On May 14th 2019, Lennette went for a mammogram on the breast exam van in Atikokan. Lennette was then flagged and referred to the Linda Buchan Center for another mammogram. At that time she received her second mammogram, ultersound and biopsies on her right breast and limp nodes surrounding that area. On June 17 Lennette’s family doctor asked her to come in on the 18th for a follow up of her tests. On June 18, Lennette and her oldest daughter Jessica received the fear that Cancer was evident ! The days to follow Lennette went to Thunder Bay for MRI and other testing . Lennette and her daughters were then informed what no one wants to hear .... You have stage 3 A breast Cancer with 12 infected limp nodes. On July 5th Lennette was told she needed to start treatments soon. This was her last day of work. Lennette just started a full time position as a manager. At the time She was in between jobs and collected EI benefits. An active EI calm was open from her Hysterectomy in December of 2018 . She was told that she only had 7 weeks left of the benefits . Although she was full of fear for the upcoming months, she put her brace face on and moved forward to winning this fight. Anyone who knows Lennette , knows she was determined to beat this knowing she has family and friends by her side. Having said this Lennette didn’t realize how costly all her medications ( not all are covered) travel and just living would add up. Lennette has always been a hard worker and has always had a job. We are trying to help in any way possible as she still has many chemo treatments along with surgery and recovery to go. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts❤️
