Helping a friend Carl Haas Pneumonia that went BAD
Donation protected
Hi my name is Chris I am starting this fund for my friend and coworker Carl Haas. I met Carl at some neighborhood get togethers, a great group of people, as we talked we had some common interests such as camping, 4wheeling, and we both were mechanics. We did a rock crawling run at table mesa north of Phoenix Az where he scared the shit out of me in his jeep, the same jeep that I welded the rear axle in that I am sure it broke not because of my great welding skills LOL “not a welder” but by Carl’s heavy right foot and too much hp. Finally, things went right and after asking him a hundred times he came to work with me. He has been such a great addition; his knowledge and skills are hard to come by also his ability and willingness to adapt from working on vehicles to working on construction equipment has been remarkable. I would like share some of the sufferings and misfortunes he has been dealing with lately and to thank you for taking the time to read this.
Good friends don’t let you do stupid things…alone.
After coming back from a trip from the Cinders Carl started feeling bad and went to urgent care 9/17 diagnoses was pneumonia. He was told to follow up with his regular Dr. in 2 weeks. Things did not go well and he had to go to the hospital only 2 days after urgent care. They put him in the covid unit, a really weird experience with people in space suits. After 4 negative test and a bloody nose each time they finally put him in a regular room. His final diagnoses was double pneumonia Carl was able to get back home after 3 days in the hospital.
Carl came back to work for a week and a half and then had to go back into the hospital with what they thought was a heart a fib and they shocked him, very painful coming from Carl. They also found a soft ball sized abscess due to infection on the outer layer of his right lung. The doctor put a tube in his chest to drain the infection. Caution picture a little gross.
He had the chest tube in for 5 days and finally was able to go home after 10 days in the hospital. He had one special night when he poured piss allover himself because the nurse didn’t empty his wizz urinal, you will have to ask him about that quite a story.
We all hope he is on the road to recovery. Carl is on antibiotics right now and is waiting for follow up visits with his regular Dr on 11/13 and cardiologist on 11/18 and pulmonologist lung Dr on 1/15/2021 long wait due to covid. Hopefully antibiotics clear the infection up if not worse case scenario is an operation to remove it.
We all hope the best for Carl and thank you for your time and support. Carl has a lot of challenges ahead of him from medical bills, lost time at work, and physical recovery but we know he can overcome.
Once again thank you
