Standing Together for Dallas and Amira
On the night of 19 January 2026 on the Bunya Highway, a head on collision shattered the world of our colleague and friend, Dallas. In a single moment, he and his thirteen year old daughter, Amira, lost Erica - a devoted partner and mother, and their youngest daughter and sister, little Simara.
Young Amira survived the crash and fought with incredible strength. After receiving urgent care at Kingaroy Hospital, she was airlifted to the Queensland Children’s Hospital, where she remains in stable condition. Her recovery will be long, complex, and emotional — a journey no child should ever have to endure.
Sadly, she has woken to a new reality without her mum and little sister by her side. Her father Dallas, grieving the loss of his partner and youngest daughter, now carries the immense responsibility of guiding Amira through the hardest chapter of her young life.
Our hearts are with them both - with Dallas, who is trying to stay strong despite unimaginable grief, and with Amira, who is facing more than any child should ever have to.
Wrapping This Family in Support
In times like this, no one should have to shoulder the pain and practical pressures alone.
Dallas is now the sole source of strength and care for Amira - emotionally, physically, and financially. As she begins the long and complex road to recovery, we want to ensure he can be exactly where he needs to be - right by her side without financial worry.
Our hope is to wrap this family in a circle of support, protecting them from the financial stress so they can focus entirely on healing, grieving and honouring the lives of Erica and Simara.
How Your Kindness Helps
Every donation — big or small — creates stability and comfort for Dallas and Amira during this painful time.
Your generosity will go directly toward their immediate and future needs, including:
Funeral Expenses – Helping provide Erica and Simara the beautiful farewell they deserve.
Amira’s Recovery - Supporting Amira’s ongoing medical treatment, rehabilitation and specialised care.
Emotional Wellbeing - Providing access to long-term trauma counselling and emotional support for both Dallas and Amira.
Daily Living Costs - Allowing Dallas to take time away from work so he can stay by Amira’s side without financial pressure.
How You Can Make a Difference
The South Burnett and Kingaroy communities are known for their incredible heart. Today, we ask you to extend that kindness to Dallas and Amira. To remind them that even in their darkest moment, they are held by love, care, and community.
Whether you’re able to donate or simply share this page, every act of kindness makes a meaningful difference to a father and daughter who have lost so much.
Thank you for opening your heart, for keeping this family in your thoughts, and for standing with them as they begin the long journey ahead. ❤️
This fundraiser has been organised by Dallas's colleagues Rose.E and Germaine Paulson at Firesticks, who work with Dallas and the other rangers at BPAC.
Dallas is the beneficiary of this fundraiser to ensure these funds are directly received by him for both himself and Amira.
