Last night, a fire broke out in the garage of my dad Rusty’s home, where he lives with Emily, my sister Ali, and her boyfriend Garrin. Thankfully, everyone and their pets made it out safely, but the house suffered major damage and will need to be gutted and rebuilt to some degree. They also lost at least one vehicle.

Ali and Garrin had just moved to Las Vegas in the middle of August to start their young lives together, and this tragedy has turned everything upside down for them and my family. In the meantime, they’ll be staying in a hotel, then moving into a rental until the home is safe again.

While most things can eventually be replaced, they also lost irreplaceable sentimental items. Monetary support cannot change this, but it will help relieve some of the stress of temporary housing, rebuilding, and replacing daily necessities.
