Our family never imagined we’d be in this position, but after much encouragement from loved ones, we’ve decided to create this fundraiser for my cousin’s family.

During the recent tornado, her husband was critically injured while at work. The force of the storm caused something to tear free, striking him and trapping him between vehicles. He suffered multiple broken ribs on the right side of his chest, a punctured lung, severe bruising to his other lung, a broken clavicle, and significant lacerations to his face and head that required stitches. He is currently in the ICU, and while we are incredibly grateful he is alive, he has a long road to recovery ahead.

As they focus on his healing, my cousin is staying by his side and missing work. Together they have two young children and two dogs to care for, and the financial burden of lost income, gas for travel,and everyday bills is already becoming overwhelming.

We know so many families in our community were affected by this devastating tornado, and that is one reason my cousin hesitated to ask for help. She knows others are hurting too. However, many people have encouraged us to let the community support them during this difficult time. Any funds that are not needed for their recovery will be donated back to local tornado relief efforts so that other families can receive help as well.
