I am a Family Physician and have always practiced in underserved areas, including with the local Native American Tribe. As a child of WWII refugees I was able to forge a path to my dream education, medical school, and to work with folks who needed good health care.
Now I find myself in dire straits financially. I am semi-retired and 70 years old. I always expected to work in retirement, and I have. I love what I do.
Unfortunately, I had used much of my IRAs in between Locums (substitute) Physician jobs, and in 2014, I had to tap into some of the savings when my wife had brain cancer so that I could care for her at home.
I had another account for about $88K at the same investment company, but they misrepresented it and said it really does not exist. That was my last stop-gap for emergencies. I am actively looking for the next job.
I have been able to support Go Fund Me in the past for various families and well as for the Pulse Nightclub tragedy.
I helped to found our area's Rural Health Clinics 30 years ago, so I am very invested in staying here. I built a small dream house 8 years ago but may lose it. I would like help to cover the mortgage ($2,600/mo) and the usual expenses with a home and aging car for a few months until I can sell the house.
