On February 7th, our family experienced every homeowner’s worst nightmare. My brother Andy and his family lost their entire home in a sudden and devastating fire. In a matter of moments, everything they owned—clothes, memories, daily essentials—was gone. Firefighters fought hard, but were unable to get to the fire quickly in the whiteout weather conditions and the fire hydrants were frozen.
While we are incredibly grateful that everyone is physically safe, they are now facing the overwhelming reality of starting over from nothing. Right now, they need immediate help with basic necessities like clothing, shoes, and personal items, as well as important things insurance often doesn’t fully cover.
Their daughter, Kate, has also lost all of her music and sports equipment—items that are not just expensive, but deeply tied to her passions, routines, and sense of normalcy during an incredibly hard time.
This GoFundMe is to help bridge the gap in these first critical days and weeks: replacing clothing, essentials, and supporting Kate so she can continue the activities she loves while their family begins the long process of rebuilding.
Any contribution—no matter the size—will make a meaningful difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page and keeping our family in your thoughts means more than we can express.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support during this heartbreaking time, from the Schultz family. ❤️
