Hello all!
My name is Idalina Pina. I am a sophomore at Middlesex School, located in Concord, MA, and a graduate from the Boston Public School, Frederick Pilot. I have been involved with Tenacity for the last six years both as a student and a junior staff during the summer program. Recently I was given the opportunity to attend an amazing four-week summer program at Oxford University, in England! The program starts from July 3rd and ends in July 30th. While there, I will be majoring in Photography and minoring in International Relations, two courses which I plan to further pursue in school. I have been photographing as a hobby for the last year and I've enjoyed it so much that I plan on exploring the subject more. International Relations has always greatly interested me and it is something I plan to pursue in college.
The program, which originally costs $8,300 for the full four-weeks, not including air-fare and personal spending money, gave me a scholarship for half of the money. Although I was incredibly thankful for the scholarship, I didn't think my family would be able to come up with the rest of the money. My mother, who is a single-mother, cannot afford to pay for the program. After speaking to teachers from my previous school, Beacon Academy, and some people from Tenacity, I was pursued to try to find a way to fund for the rest of the money. With your help, I'd like to raise $4,150 which will go towards covering tuition for the program.
I would be incredibly thankful if you could help accomplish this goal! Going to this program will be an amazing opportunity which I hope to not miss.
