After filing a missing person's report a few months ago, we managed to connect with our dear friend Iceis! Trans women of color like her are among the most marginalized, mistreated and disregarded populations (especially in this harsh political climate that strives to eradicate trans people for merely existing). She could really use some mutual aid from her community right now.
She recently experienced a significant mental health crisis which left her briefly institutionalized and unable to work. After losing her job some weeks ago and leaving an unhealthy relationship, she has been navigating homelessness to the best of her abilities but still needs support. Recently her car was impounded, making it nearly impossible for her to seek work or get to and from shelters & appointments she needs to get her life on track. Please help her stay afloat. If you can't donate, please circulate this fundraiser or suggest resources so we can assist her with housing, mental health, securing transportation, and thriving.
She has been a light in our lives! A lifetime Watsonville/Santa Cruz resident that grew up in foster care, a former intern at The Diversity Center, a dedicated caregiver, a friend, a sister and much more. We as a community should consider it a priority to uplift and support her.
