I’m Hershey, and I’m creating this fundraiser for myself during an incredibly uncertain and difficult time. This month, the termination of Temporary Protected Status for Haiti took full effect, and as a result, I lost my employment authorization and my ability to work. This has deeply affected my ability to provide for myself and my children. I have lived in this country for most of my life, and I am now facing the painful reality of losing my income while trying to find a way to keep supporting my family.
- I am seeking legal representation to help me understand my immigration options and fight for my right to work and earn a living. There is also an urgent deadline: I need $3,000 upfront to start my application before September 18, before the new immigration public charge rule takes full effect. The funds raised will go toward immigration legal and application fees.
Here is the breakdown:
- $3,000 upfront to begin my application before September 18
- $3,000 for USCIS filing fees
- $1,500 for my USCIS interview
Right now, these costs are more than I can manage on my own, especially while I am unable to work and support my household. If you’re able to help, any contribution would mean so much to me. I will also be hosting a dance class with my team members next month, and all proceeds will go toward my legal fees. If donating is not possible, sharing this fundraiser with others would also make a real difference.
Thank you for reading, for supporting me, and for standing with my family during this difficult time.
