Support Helen Afshar Conquer Cancer

A battle with cancer is the greatest fight someone may probably have to face in their lifetimes. For our dearest Helen it is a fight she has once conquered but must once again face. In January 2020, Helen was re-diagnosed with a rare form of breast cancer that, doctors say, is a more aggressive and dangerous form of cancer that she fought in 2015. If you or anyone you know has ever battled cancer before, you know that the feat of undergoing cancer treatment expends every ounce of strength, courage, and will one can possibly muster. Unfortunately, cancer treatment can also become a very expensive financial burden. For Helen, this is a cost that she cannot afford to pocket once again which is why I am asking for your help. If you are reading this, you are probably one of Helen’s close friends or someone who has had the fortune of crossing paths with this angelic and loving woman at some point in your life. Helen is not the type of person to ask anyone for help, even when it is desperately needed. She is the first to help others and she needs our help and support this time. Her immediate treatment will last approximately one year’s time, starting with undergoing chemotherapy for the first 5 months, recuperating from chemotherapy for 6 weeks, undergoing a double mastectomy to minimize the risk of her cancer recurring in the future, and finally resuming chemotherapy for another year. Helen is facing a tough battle ahead but we know that she will be able to conquer her cancer for good with help from God and the support and prayers of her family, friends, and other loved ones. I, along with my family and some of her friends, have started this GoFundMe so that we can ensure that Helen can focus on her healing and not worry about the financial pressures caused by this disease.
