My Stepdaughter Neveah, who I love like my own and my wife Brittany went on a trip to Italy for her brothers wedding, Unfourturenly Neveah got really sick, with a high fever.Then had to be rushed to the childrens hospital where shes been since June 30 2015 in ICU. The doctors found she has pneumonia, also a blood infection that has spread throughout her whole body. Shes been on a iv drip pumping 5 different anti biotics into her for days now and its taking a toll on her body.
Shes been through a full body CT, MRI, ultrasounds multiple biopsies, optometrist to check for parasites in her corneas. It's very hard to breathe or cough without pain, also has a horrible bladder infection. Her liver is swelling same with her kidneys. The medicine is not reacting to her body very well. Now we have been told that they HAVE to stay in Italy for another 7 days at least because she is unable to fly due to the pneumonia and other medical complications. Its very hard to communicate with the hospital staff due to the language barrier. Medical insurance will only cover 80% of our entire visit, Tricare Standard, and the hospital is requiring we pay before we leave because we are American citizens.
The airlines is allowing us now to change the flights but not without fees, since Nevaeh needs to fly from Florence not Rome(it's to far).
