Kays Medical Fund-help us kick Lyme
I am asking in all sincerity that you please take the time to read this in it’s entirety. And please share this with others.
My wife has been suffering with lyme disease since 2009. Her symptoms have progressed into cronic nuero lyme disease. She is very sick and the purpose of this campaign is for funds needed for necessary treatments that's unaffordable.
"Yet another hospital visit a week before fathers day"
On may 16, 2016, I cried out to God praying and pleading to find healing for Kay. She is desperate for freedom from the daily sickness and pain. Desperate for a normal relationship with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. Desperate to love life, be a nurse again and to serve God and man with her God given gifts of service. This Lyme Disease is draining every bit of the sheer drive out of this woman. She has always given all she had to give---and it is fading right before my eyes.
First and foremost, I want to thank God for blessing us with all of you, as without Him, nothing is possible and therefore God deserves all the glory. I thank you for being beside us and behind us with your prayers and monetary support in our time of need. Without the monetary support, we wouldn't have been able to make the multiple doctor visits and tests that have been done recently.
Kay’s suffering since 2009 has got to end. When I started this campaign in May this year, Kay had been completely bedridden for 3 weeks and had symptoms of dementia like issues. She couldn't eat properly, and had lost 15 pounds in that course of time. It was then I realized the only way I could get her well was find a doctor well versed in treating late stage Lyme patients. There are none in Panama City. Thank God we found one closer to home than we expected. We visited this doctor in Jacksonville, FL last week. In the course of the visit, he asked us if we believed in God. We said of course we do. He asked us to pray for him so he could properly treat Kay for this disease. It was very encouraging to listen to a doctor that provided the hope of returning to a productive life. Our own research has taught us the problems that can occur with improper treatment of Lyme Disease. If you don’t fully understand what Lyme can do to a person, I challenge you to google “Chronic Neuro Lyme Disease” for a glimpse of what Kay is fighting. At the moment, Kay is experiencing and being treated for a severe digestive problem. Just 14 days worth of medication is costing over $350. Once that is corrected, our doctor in Jacksonville will start Kay on a 6 month (at least) non stop protocol using “Antimicrobial Natural Treatments”.
Initially, the costs for this prolonged treatment will be approximately $660 per month for two trips to Jacksonville, FL that includes, gas, food and lodging. Doctor visits, lab tests etc will cost at least another $125 in co pays. The 6 month consecutive treatment called “LeeCowden Protocol” will cost $295 each month, a total estimate of $1080 a month in costs. Also, if IV antibiotics are required again, the cost is $50 in insurance copay plus daily visits to the doctor's office for 30 days = $1500 based on previous experience. This does not include travel expenses. The protocol I mentioned is all antimicrobial in nature ….. and once the protocol is finished her body is expected to get rid of all Lyme and co-infections on its own. With all that said, we will be spending at least $1200 per month with the visits to Jacksonsville plus visits to local doctors. I.E.-- visits between the GI doctor, primary, or pain management doctors—and another $1500 if needed for antibiotics.
So I’ve thrown out a life preserver. I created a fund for Kay because we simply cannot continue to absorb all of the medical bills coming our way. I'm posting this once again because I know there are people out there who want to help... I prayed about this before I started this in May knowing the Lord often supplies our needs through other people. My wife Kay desperately needs your help--- we need your help to get her well again. Please find it in your heart to help us meet this goal. Once the doctor from Jacksonville begins the treatment, it must continue without any break for at least six months.
The idea is, if each person can give at least $20, or whatever they can afford, we could start treatments immediately. If you don't feel comfortable giving through it even though it is secure, please by all means contact me at [email redacted] and I can give you information on how you can give by snail mail. Thanks in advance for your prayers and your offering, God bless you guys!!
