I started writing songs as a teen - pouring my heart out over the piano keys, letting all my angsty emotions become prayers.
In college, those songs took on greater depth. I found that they touched on themes of a woman's heart and transcended my little wailings to God.
I have been asked many times over the years to record an album, and the timing never seemed quite right. In fact- it still doesn't seem like a perfect time, but probably because there is no such thing.
This money will cover the costs to create my first album, including travel, meals, and lodging during a week of recording.
