Hi guys! My name is Giana and I've started this group for my dear friend Glynis Johns. Glynis is a senior at St. John's University, where she is finishing her undergraduate career.
The moment I met Glynis, she instantly became the hardest working person that I knew. I was taken back by her determination to finish her education, even though that meant being financially independent. On top of paying for her own education, Glynis pays her own rent, utilities and anything that follows.
Glynis has always been fortunate to have the support of family and friends. Unfortunately, this week one of her biggest supporters suddenly passed away, her father. Losing a parent is hard for anyone; however, Glynis and her father were exceptionally close. They had the type of relationship that any father with a daughter would envy.
As if this tragedy was not hard enough, Glynis has been left with the financial responsibility of the funeral arrangments. Planning a service is hard for anyone, yet Glynis has taken the responsibility for the entire event to ensure that her father receives the proper goodbye that he deserves. To do this, Glynis has had to sacrifice money for necessities, such as, rent.
Needless to say, my friend needs help. She has not even had the proper time to grieve as she has been bombarded with money issues since her fathers passing. Anything you can donate will help and it would mean a lot to Glynis, her family, and to me. Let's help Glynis provide her father the proper burial that he deserves!
