Help Bring Max Home

Donation protected
***Due to the absolutely overwhelming response, through careful consideration and discussion with some of Amandas friend's, we have decided to increase the target to help with funeral costs or however the family sees fit.  Thank you so much to everyone for donating already, it has blown me away! It is testament to the type of person and friend Amanda is. ***

I have decided to set up a fundraising page to "Help Bring Max Home".   Amanda is a dear friend to so many of us, and would help us all at the drop of a hat if we needed it!  So please help her and the family by donating.  It doesn't matter how big or small the donation - every bit helps take the burden off the family at such a tragic time xx

From Amanda Talma-Speedy
"Today the world has lost a very special man.
My father Max, has passed away suddenly here in Melbourne.
In the space of a few short hours, we have experienced the absolute highs and lows of life.
As you can see from this picture, Max was having an amazing time at the Grand Final Parade.  This was his first Grand Final trip and he was very excited to be sharing it with Helen & myself.  We were making very special memories together.  Living it up!  Loving life!  As you should.
About 40 minutes after this selfie of Max & I was taken, he fell ill, was taken to hospital suffering a heart attack, & despite the best efforts of the doctors and nurses, they were unable to save him.  He was conscious throughout and in no pain.  He was more concerned that he was putting us out, & urging us to go on without him.  As if.... We weren't leaving him!  But this is Max to a tee.  Aways thinking of others before himself!
I can honestly say I could not have been luckier to have that man in my life.  He's the dad I chose for myself, & I'm the daughter he chose to have.  I know just how much I loved him, & how much he loved me!  To see how much joy and pride he had in his Grandchildren, Josh, Zac & Jessica.  They were his absolute world.  He loved them more than anything.
My family have all insisted i go to the MCG tomorrow, and watch our beloved Eagles play in the Grand Final, as we came to do.  I have to go for him, because it's what he would have wanted me to do.  I don't know how I am going to get through it, but I will try, knowing that despite the empty seat by my side, Max will be holding my hand and watching it all through my eyes.  I really hope our Eagles can do this for you Max!
The best friend, Dad & Grandad ever.
I will always love you Max.  Thank you for everything you've done for me and my family.  I hope you've been reunited with Suki, Bella, Pepe, all the cats, your parents and other loved ones.
You will be forever in my heart x"
