Help Get Mark Home And Well!

Hi everyone! For those of you that don’t know Mark very well, he is an incomplete quadriplegic. He has been very independent up until now. He has a sweet spirit and is always ready to crack a joke to try and keep bad situations as light as possible. We have been married for 16 years and have 2 amazing boys, Karson and Konner. He has been very active in the boys lives, including helping run Boy ScoutTroop 43, taking them to their baseball games and practices, and band performances and concerts among many other activities they participate in. I don’t think he has ever missed a game, concert, or meeting unless he was sick. He is an Eagle Scout and hopes to help our sons obtain that same honor. His boys miss him greatly and we just want him to be able to come home. Mark ended up at Riverside Emergency Room on Monday, December 3 for a terrible open wound and nausea and just overall not feeling well. After being admitted we quickly found our that his wounds were infected and he would need critical care for them. The doctors said a couple more days could have been very bad! Through the week of December 3 he had 2 surgeries, a wound vac, a pic line, and IV antibiotics among many other things. We are now in a specialized hospital and are trying out best to get Mark back on his feet. I am staying with him, helping with his care, and praying he is able to come home soon, however we have a long road ahead. It will take several months if not longer for the wound to heal and at least another few weeks for his elbow to heal. We thank you all for your prayers, support, and understanding as we go through this difficult time. As I type this, he is resting because we had such a long and trying morning! I will do my best to update this page with new information. Any help you can give is so greatly appreciated as we are both out of work now.
