On December 16, 2015 my wonderful husband headed to the doctor because he was experiencing some lower back pain. They gave him some muscle relaxers, steroids and pain medicine in hopes that the problem would be solved. Little did we know that 3 days later we would be in a car accident while driving our kiddos to their grandparents house. This intensified his pain 10 fold and after having an MRI and an Xray it revealed he sustained two herniated discs in his back. The agony he is experiencing keeps him from being able to walk, stand, sit or bend over. Playing with his children and putting on his shoes are nearly impossible.

His doctor suggested that he get slip on shoes to prevent him from needing to bend over to put them on. He hasn't been able to go to work since the other driver hit his car and is not expected to return to work anytime soon.  So far on his road to recovery, he has been through steroids, muscle relaxers, pain medication, physical medicine, physical therapy, an MRI and a Xray, and soon he will be receiving pain management through epidural steroid injections. He faces potential spinal fusion surgery as the resolution if the injections do not resolve the injury. Recovery for this surgery would be 4 to 12 weeks. He was the only one working to financially support his family.  At 31 years old he terrified at the thought of needing a spinal fusion. We would appreciate any help with our medicals bills that seem to be insurmountable.
