Help Gali's Therapy/Medical Costs

Thank you for visiting Gali’s Go Fund Me Page. This page is to assist Mr. Srinivas Gali and his family with ongoing treatment and medication costs associated with his long term injuries.

Here is bit information;

Mr Srinivas Gali met with a serious accident on 21st May 2015 around 4pm while riding a motor vehicle on his way to home from work, major impact was to his cervical cord. Doctors performed a major surgery, and the surgery was partially successful. Fortunately Gali survived but his body got paralysed from his shoulders to the below.  Diagnosis was RTA with C-Spine injury with cervical cord contusion & dyautonomia (21st May), Traumatic cervical cord contusions (C3- C6) with quadriplegia & tracheostomy (7th Sept 2015).

Doctors advised Gali not to undergo any further surgeries, and rather they suggested him to take physical therapy. Initially Gali could not move neither his legs nor his hands, after several sessions of physical therapy, Gali is now able to move only his elbow and fingers a bit. He is completely bed ridden.

Gali is married and currently living with his wife and 3 children, his wife having only school education, could not become a bread winner for the family.  However Gali’s wife is taking care of all Gali’s needs besides looking after their children.

Gali used to work as an Agriculture Officer for Telangana state government, he is currently on unpaid leave. When I spoke to Gali, he expressed his strong intentions to go back to sedentary lab duties once he get bit better, but according to doctors, due to the severity of the injury with longer recovery time, it could take at least 2-3 years. So for this period of time Gali desperately need money for his ongoing treatment and also to feed his wife and children.

Gali’s colleagues collected around 5lakh INR (around 8300 USD) for him, his family has been surviving with this money for the past 18 months including his medical expenses, children’s studies and running family.  Having no other income and with mounting medical bills Gali’s family is struggling a lot. He is currently not receiving any monies from the government, his claim to extend his unpaid leave got rejected for no reason (this is a separate issue though).

We have strong faith on Gali that he will get better and go back to work, in which case he would not need any money from anyone. We personally know Gali (we are class mates of Gali), as a hard working, god fearing, kind hearted person, who never ever harm anyone. Our heart was broken when we heard about his situation and we have determined do something for him and his family.

We really feel as if we should somehow be able to do this without anybody’s help. But it seems Gali situation is dire and he is in need of money for his treatment and to run his family for the next 2-3 years which would be bit too much for us to contribute.

We believe that, we should do something for him and his family as his situation should not affect his children’s studies and their future as well as Gali and his wife’s physical and psychological conditions.   So we ask for your kind contributions in supporting Gali’s ongoing medical expenses, but also to assist his family in this tough time.

Gali is in desperate need of money (at least ₹ 45,000/month), so please…please help if you can. If you can't donate, please share this campaign with someone who you believe can help Gali.
