Helpfund my cancer radiation treatments
Donation protected
My wife Liz and I (I'm on the left in the accompanying picture) are Computer Engineers residing in the Idaho panhandle. We lost our employment soon after moving here because our employer sold the company and we were not part of the package. We started our own consulting business but fell into a huge financial hole when LIz came down with pneumonia soonafter and spent three weeks in the ICU. Further, due to the Covid panic two of my contracts got cancelled last year and we are now struggling with the fallout of two years of unemployment.
And now after battling what I thought was sinusitis for the last four months I received more bad news. I seemed to be losing my senses and my condition was getting worse.
A series of tests, including an MRI revealed a mass in my nasal/sinus area and a biopsy further revealed a high grade carcinoma in my sinuses. It is a rare form of paranasal sinus cancer. The doctors treating me recommend Proton Beam radiation therapy due to the fact that the location of the cancer is not in a good location for successful surgery.
Medical insurance will cover a some of the cost but Proton Beam treatment centers and equipment are not populous in the US and my therapy is slated for Seattle which is 400 miles from our residence. Therefore we are raising funds for travel, temporary lodging for the term of the treatment and to cover insurance co-pay and deductible fees for the treatment program. The program will start within two weeks. Considering our threadbare financial situation we are seeking immediate help.
Going forward we are also seeking any advice, contact info and leads for consulting contract positions to provide computer and software engineering services.
God bless !!
