Living & Caring Expenses for the Hardies

Living and Caring Expenses for the Hardie Clan

Those of you who know the Hardie clan know that these guys have had a tough run of it lately - for those that don’t, there is a snippet of the full story at the bottom of this section.

This Go Fund Me

There have been many beautifully generous friends and family wanting to help the Hardie’s in many ways - some financially. So for simplicity’s sake, we (Chace’s extended family) thought we could combine the efforts by using a small fund to help Joel, Karen, Chace, Tiahn & Shanae. The funds will go towards things like hospital parking sometimes ($80 a day!), ongoing medical expenses and living expenses while they focus their time on helping Chace heal. Also Chace will not be able to earn an income for himself for quite some time.

Understandably much time is spent in Sir Charles Gardner hospital instead of behind a desk making an income lately - and the financial pressure will only continue to build over the coming months as their dear son and brother continues treatment. Even a small dent will help ease the ongoing financial burden that weighs heavily on Joel and Karen’s shoulders.

Joel, Karen, Chace, Tiahn and Shanae plus their extended family, thanks you immensely for the ongoing help and support by way of phone calls and text messages, meals and every other way assistance has been provided. It does not go unnoticed and will not be forgotten.

Chace’s Story

The End of February 2019, after suffering a small pain in the face, Chace went to the Drs.  The Drs sent him for a CT Scan straight away and shortly after Chace was in hospital having biopsy surgery.  Shortly after Chace was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer in the bones of his face which had also formed a cancerous tumor.  From that point life changed extremely quickly for the family of five and his fiancé. Chace was now to face months and months of intense chemotherapy treatment.

Shortly after just finishing his first Chemotherapy treatment, Chace was rushed to Emergency with complications. Days later a 14 hour surgery was needed to immediately remove the tumour that had grown significantly in size since his diagnosis and to remove the bone cancer in his face.  This meant a reconstruction of his face from his eye down.  An amazing team of over 20 medical staff whom were trained from all over the world helped make this unique surgery go smoothly and we are all forever grateful to each and every one involved.

As you can only imagine, recovery over the past couple of weeks has been incredibly hard for Chace and will continue to be for weeks, months and years to come...

Being able to have his family by his side has been incredibly beneficial for Chace’s healing while he faces the hard road ahead. They only hope they can continue to do this as the weeks go by.

Updates will be made as Chace’s condition changes .
