Surgery for Stella

Donation protected

Hey friends! We started noticing that Stella was getting very weird about us touching near and around her abdomen. We could just be bathing her or petting her and she would yelp in pain if we pressed too hard. At first we thought that she may just be getting older and weird about her tummy. As time went on, we noticed that it was happening more and more and we also noticed that her energy wasn’t the same as it used to be. After taking her to the vet and having them feel around, take x-rays and blood tests, the next step was to do an ultrasound of her abdomen. Today, June 22nd was the date of her ultrasound. Never in a million years did I think that this was the news I was going to get today...Stella has a mass the size of a small baseball in her liver. We aren’t sure if it is cancerous or benign, but we do know that the next step is surgery to have the mass removed and see if it is cancer. Unfortunately, we do not have insurance for her and we cannot get insurance since this would be a pre-existing condition. The cost of the surgery alone is around $6,000 and we have already spent $800 for the ultrasound. I would very much appreciate any and all help from our friends, family and doggy friends! If you know me, you know that Stella is like my child and I can’t imagine my life without her. I’m praying that this surgery gives me a few more good years with her, as she is almost 10 years old. Thank you for reading!!
