Help For Seannas Stroke & Brain Surgery
Donation protected
Dear family & friends,
As you may have heard, on January 3rd my mom had a sudden stroke, brain hemorrhage & brain surgery while on vacation in Oregon. She spent several weeks in the ICU there & has since been transferred to Oakland area, after a few weeks there she suffered a second stroke & is now back in the ICU here. It has been about 7 weeks now and there is no end in sight right now. She will need at the very least several more months in a long term facility & likely home nursing after that. And she still has at least one more big surgery ahead of her.
This has obviously saddened & shocked all of us. We are just trying to be there for her, comfort her & help her progress as much as we possibly can.
So many of you have reached out to help & it has been nice to know we have such a wonderful community of friends & family behind us.
The toll has been huge. Physically, mentally, emotionally & financially. My dad, Steve, has been in the hospital by my moms side the entire time. 12-14 hour days. Not only are the medical bills already starting t come in, but my mom has a long road ahead of her, and my dad has been taking all of this time off to be with her (unable to work) while paying for hotels, Airbnb, travel, and all the things that come along with being away from home. All the while also paying the bills to keep things running back home in Aptos.
During a time like this it is so hard to think about anything but being there for your loved one. This could happen to anyone & it is absolutely devastating. I set up this Go Fund Me to try to help out my dad in a small way to just take a little bit of the pressure off his shoulders.
Thank you for contributing. We love you all!
