This is my wife, Sandy Boddy. On Feb. 22nd, 2005, this woman's  life was forever altered. She sufferered a severe injury at work.  She and other custodians were moving desks into a fan room while parts of the school were being remodeled. Her hair became entangled on the tailshaft of a fan unit, and it scapled her. She lost everything from below her eyebrows to the back of her head, including half an ear.  She was hospitalized for a lengthy time, in a medically induced coma for most of it.  While in the coma, she underwent an 11 hour surgery in an attempt to save  her scalp and hair. It did not work. There were several other surgeries to follow, one was a skin graft where they took skin from her back in order to cover her head. She had a very long healing process, and even after all these years, she still experiences pain and has to take medication daily. She has a prosthetic ear, a wig, and tattooed eyebrows.  She was out of work for 2 years. Since that time, she has gone back to work for the same employer. Sandy is a hard worker, and wants to work, but per doctors orders, is only able to work 4 hrs per day. In todays economy, four hours a day (even though I am working full time) just isn't cutting it anymore. In these last 10 plus years, we've ended up using my retirement funds and all our savings, just to try to make ends meet. Money is scarce. We aren't the type to ask for handouts, but are now wondering how we can get through all this. Bills are piling up, and  money is tight.
