Ofc. Jason Starks was a dedicated member of the Jupiter Police Department in Jupiter Florida. He retired several years ago in most part due to an on-duty crash he was involved in.
Shortly after retiring, Jason's wife (Pat) was diagnosed with stage-3 breast cancer in Oct. 2015 and had to undergo a double mastectomy. Then came the Chemotherapy. In June 2016, Pat's cancer came back and again the Chemotherapy. All during this time, Pat was going to school to get her doctoral degree, which she finally received this January. Jason and his wife then began looking in the Orlando area at several locations (colleges) offering Pat a position to be a professor, which also put them closer to family.
Well last month, Pat's cancer spread throughout to her spine, left arm, leg, and skull. Now the wait for the P.E.T. scan to see if the cancer had spread to any major organs.
Today, Jason's wife was admitted to Wellington Regional medical center with a severe brain hemorrhage that has affected the left side of her brain. They also found another cancer mass at the left rear of her brain. The doctors are trying to get a control on the hemorrhage but things are not looking good. Her life expectancy is less than 6 months, at best.
Jason and Pat have two beautiful children, Jaden and Jazzlyn. This GoFundMe page is being created to assist Jason and his family with medical bills, living expenses and any other costs associated to Pat's illness.
