If you've ever met Maureen, then you are already one of many people who love her. Maureen and her partner Cheryl are facing an overwhelming medical crisis; due to recent changes they must now pay out of pocket for essential in-home care that is necessary for Maureen's survival. This has come at the worst possible time, as Maureen is struggling bravely to recover from a recent medical setback from a care accident that is not her fault.

Project Purpose

Maureen knows how to recover from medical emergencies. She knows how to trust and encourage her body, and she has an amazing history of surviving against all odds. Maureen is 100% dedicated to recovering the progress she lost with this setback, and continuing to build and heal from there!

She needs our help, and we can help her do this! Maureen knows she can recover, heal, and continue to become healthier than ever. She needs our help for the support that gives her time to do this. She also needs to know that we are thinking of her and envisioning her healing, wherever we are, to keep her energized and hopeful.

Project Needs

Maureen needs quality, trained care support each day and throughout the night. Things have become more complicated, requiring an increasing number of expensive needs that are not covered yet are still necessary. The terrible truth is that without 24/7 homebased care, Maureen will not be able to survive. And there is no 24/7 homebased care coverage available for anybody, including Maureen. Cheryl is doing more than any one person should in order to ensure Maureen's safety and healing, but it is not possible for one person to take on the tasks that should be handled by a larger team than is available.

Not only does your help ensure Maureen receives essential care, it helps Cheryl. Cheryl wants to be able to keep helping Maureen. However, she needs help so she can keep on being the supporting, loving partner that Maureen needs without burning out from sleepless nights.

Funding Transparency Commitment

All donations will go to a dedicated bank account exclusively for funding care for Maureen. This fundraiser is being run with Maureen & Cheryl's active participation and consent. 100% of all funds received will go to support Maureen's expenses. As this fundraiser progresses we will use GoFundMe to release regular updates to donors, including funds raised, funds used, and summaries of what the funds have been used for (while respecting privacy around specifical medical and personal details).
