Laurie's Cancer Fight- Again

"You have stage 4 breast cancer"- with those words, my life was shattered.  Stage four is the only stage that is fatal.  That much I knew.  I have learned a lot more since that day.  Hello- My name is Laurie Lucas.  I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in August 2014.  I have gone through chemo twice since then, six months each time,  and was also in a pretty bad car accident 18 months ago.   I taught through all of it until I was forced to quit a year ago due to extreme medical issues.  I was a teacher for 21 years at the middle school level in Pinckney, MI , and am now on long term disability, which comes to slightly more that 50% of my teaching salary.  My doctor doubts I will be able to work again.  Giving up teaching was one of the hardest things I have ever done. 

I have given up a lot of things to try and make this budget work, but unfortuantely it's still not enough.
