My name is Matt Lenihan and I'm a co-worker of Gabriel's. I'm from Chicago, and also a member of Local Union 134. If you are receiving this you happened to be fortunate enough to have met Gabe Jimenez. I'd like to share a bit of Gabe's history and explain why I care so much about him and why I'm reaching out for help.
Gabe Jimenez is a member of IBEW Local 134, a proud Southsider, a son, a brother and most importantly a father. He also happens to be one of the most genuine and caring people I have ever had the good fortune of meeting. Gabe's constant and unwavering selflessness and his inability to compromise his values is a rarity in this day and age. He is never too hot or too cold, he takes everything in stride, he's just Gabe...solid in every way.
I just mentioned the most important part of Gabe's life, being a father. His daughter is all he ever talks about and his singular concern. She will be a college sophomore this fall and that is something that Gabe could not be more proud of. As a single father, age 41, he has done everything with the sole goal to give her opportunities he never dreamed for himself. She is his reason for everything.
Sadly, Gabe had a heart attack on the morning of Monday, the tenth of July. Due to the fast action of two of his union brothers, Gabe was able to make it to the hospital and be afforded the best chance for recovery from this tragedy. He has has since been stabilized but in critical condition and he has a long road ahead of him.
Thus far the out pouring of well wishes and people looking to help in any way has been inspirational. I thank you for that. Gabe, his daughter and his family are in need of our help right now. The beneficiary for this account is Gabe's sister Rebecca. She grew up with Gabe in Oak Lawn and will be using the proceeds to help pay for Gabe's hospital bills and also his daughter's college expenses. Please assist with helping him and his family in their time of need.
