This is Finnegan, one of our two long-haired dachshunds that we took in from another family. He's one of the most playful, loving, sweetest, cuddly, (and a bit nippy) little dogs you'll ever meet. Unfortunately, this breed of dog is prone to having back issues, as we found out this morning. Finn woke up with rear leg paralysis.
After two visits to the ER and neurologist, Finn has been admitted to the animal hospital awaiting back surgery on his herniated disk. The Dr. said with the surgery he has an 80-90% chance of full recovery! However. this comes with a steep price. Anyone that has an animal knows that they are more than pets, they're family. So, we just about maxed out the credit card on a deposit for the surgery, but not sure where we'll find the rest of the money.
We know this is a lot to ask, but he's a member of our family and we will do whatever it takes to have him home, happy and healthy again. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and share this and if you are able to, thanks for helping to heal our fur baby.
