Help Find Ruger - Ruger is my 2 yo male Blue Heeler (Australian Cattle Dog) who has been missing since he was ripped from my arms during a tornado that swept through Mayfield, KY on May 10, 2016. It happened in a blink of an eye. I was thrown 75-100 ft and he was nowhere to be found. There's no sign of him anywhere even though I've accounted for everything that was around us, even empty gas cans. I BELIEVE HE GOT OUT and RAN! He hates storms. We've searched the area, the tornado path, the surrounding countryside and counties and have followed many promising leads. He's lost and he's scared and he needs us to find him! We've had family, friends, strangers and professionals all offer assistance in many different ways but so far no sightings have been 100% confirmed.
My girlfriend, Brie, and I are college students at Murray State University who were within days of leaving for our summer internships when our lives were turned upside down. There are no words for how much we love him and miss him. It's 11 days later and we're still here and still searching. The tornado destroyed almost everything I own, but all I truly care about is finding Ruger.
We've exhausted the time and money of those who have helped so far. Many have left home, traveled across the country, paid expenses here and there, or worked pro bono to HELP FIND RUGER. To continue the search from here will be costly, not to mention what we and others have spent so far. Signs, travel, lost wages, equipment, search professionals, and who knows what else we may need to cover or for how long. These are expenses we just can't take care of on our own. We know there may come a point where all we can do is pray he returns one day. Until then, with YOUR HELP we're committed to doing everything possible to find him. We know that TOGETHER we can bring Ruger home!
The smallest of donation would mean so much! Once he's found or all efforts have been exhausted any remaining funds will be donated in some way to help other lost and homeless dogs in need. My sister, Laken, has also set up an account for those who'd like to help with my personal expense. The tornado destroyed my trailer, demolished the garage (where Ruger and I took cover) and everything in it, totaled my truck, and scattered all my tools and every other personal belonging for miles. All I had insured was my truck. Any little bit is much appreciated. Thank you.
