Hi friends,
I think it's safe to say that it's been a weird year for everyone, but it's been the hardest year for me and my family.
As some of you may know, my dad has really put a strain on my emotional and mental stability. Not just mine, but my mom's and brother's as well, and we need a little extra help.
Without getting into too much detail (as it can hurt our case), my mom has decided it's time to look for her own place and leave my dad for her safety, but we're facing a few hurdles:
1) legal fees for a divorce and also a law suit my dad has brought upon us that entangles my mom and myself. We need to hire a lawyer to help us out with both. (it's a $5k retainer per issue)
2) my mom contracted covid earlier in December, and because she was unable to work she lost a job opportunity she had set that would have helped her save enough money to find a place to live. Also, she is a licensed agent, and this lawsuit has the HUGE possibility of suspending her license thus preventing her from working AT ALL in her field. (double whammy )
I've started this GoFundMe to help with our attorney fees, and should there be anything left over, a deposit on an apartment or house for her and my brother, and potentially help her for the upcoming months rent needed while she's looking for work. We're in need of $10,000 but the number can be more considering the hours of legal counsel we'll be using.
If anyone knows me personally, knows that I normally don't ask for anything as I hate asking for help, and I surely did not expect to be asking for ANY monetary assistance, but my mom is my world, my rock, and we need to help her escape from this mess and ensure her safety. It's been over 31 years of mental, emotional and verbal abuse, and we need to move her out of the situation before it gets any worse. I feel it's time for her to be the person she was always meant to become before she met my dad, to live life without walking on eggshells, manipulation, and threats. She deserves happiness and her freedom. Anything you guys can help with, we're forever grateful for.
Again, this has been our last case scenario, but we feel we have been given no other choice but to humble ourselves and ask for help.
