Helping Euri Recover From The Flu & Kidney Failure

Spende geschützt
The start of the New Year is usually filled with happiness, excitement, fun and celebration. For my family, it didn't quite go that way. On January 2, 2020, my sister, Euri, the baby of the bunch, went to the ER with what she thought was just  a bad cold. She was told to go home, rest and drink plenty of fluids but things had gotten so bad, she couldn't agree to leave. Thankfully, so. Because the next day, they discovered she had the flu which had led to pneumonia. A couple days later, we noticed that she seemed to be getting progressively worse.  She had trouble breathing with and without oxygen and her body temp was high although she was cold to the touch. Shortly after, doctors discovered her body had gone into shock, she stopped breathing and lost consciousness. She was then put on a respirator in ICU, where she spent nearly 2 weeks recovering from sepsis caused by the flu.  Doctors then discovered she had fluid around her heart and lungs. To drain the fluid, she was helicoptered to a better equipped hospital where she was taken to emergency surgery to have the fluid drained. Due to her body going into shock, her kidneys took a hit and she spent nearly 2 months on dialysis due to Acute Kidney Injury. After a long 25 days in the hospital, physical therapy to learn to walk again, due to loss of muscle function caused by sepsis, she was finally released from the hospital. She continued her dialysis treatments for nearly 3 weeks after her release and was thankfully cleared on Monday, February 10, 2020 and no longer receives treatment, as her kidneys appear to be functioning independently. She will be seeing her Nephrologist soon to confirm.

While Euri is recovering and doing much better than she was at the start of the New Year, She still has quite a way to go. She is currently going through physical therapy to help her in rebuilding muscle function loss during her battle with sepsis and her doctor has recommended she rest and avoid as much stress as possible, as she tries to get her life back to normal.

Euri has not yet been cleared to go back to work by her doctor and considering that her body went through so much, we expect it may take some time. Since being released from the hospital, a bulk of her stress has been bills. Our family, her closest friends and I have been chipping in to help eliminate as much worry as possible. Unfortunately though, life continues and bills keep rolling in. So, Euri's best friend ShaQuanna and I decided to start this gofundme in an effort to help her with her living expenses so that she can focus on healing and being a mother to my beautiful niece. We are hoping to raise the needed funds by  May 1, 2020.

The funds raised will be used to help cover living and medical expenses such as rent/mortgage, utilities, insurance, co-pays, groceries and other household costs allowing Euri mental room to focus on healing and being a parent.

Something I think we all know all too well is that life can change in an instant, sometimes creating set backs that we may not be able to easily recover from. As family and friends, we want to make sure that we do everything we can to help Euri maintain until she has healed and is able to get back to being the hardworking provider she is. And because bills keep rolling in, whatever you would like to contribute will be much appreciated.

Thank you for taking time out to check out this campaign for my sister's road to recovery.
