Hello friends and family, I come to you today putting my pride aside as a man not being afraid to ask for help. Since being forced to pay child support by the state of Illinois for children who I not only support financially but children I spend valuable time with as well things have been challenging for me financially.
I'm in need of additional income and based on the type of schedule I've worked it makes it extremely difficult. I usually worked a set schedule 3-11:30 5 days a week getting my children on my days off. I typically left for work around 1:30pm arriving back home at 12:45am because I utilize public trans as opposed to driving which will cost me $300 a month for gas and parking.
I'm now working a flexible schedule which gives me more options by freeing up time a couple of days a week and driving for uber would fit this schedule perfectly, not only that the days I work 3-11:30pm I can drive before work on my own time, the problem is I lost my license to the state of Iowa due to Ferguson like tactics when I resided there, tactics that the department of Justice found to be unfair and disproportionate with "most arrest warrants stemming from traffic violations," unfortunately these tactics are being used against people of color all across the country and I was no exception back then. I was targeted, ticketed for petty violations until eventually I lost my privileges due to unpaid fines. I owe the state of Iowa $2733 & they have put a stop on my privileges until this amount is paid, yes, I can't even get an Illinois license because of this and between all my bills, rent, expenses, child support, and sending my 3rd child Kaiden in California money things are extremely tight, getting my license back and driving for uber would be life changing for me.
I ask for your help, not a handout but help from the people who know the effort I've put forward as a man and a father of 3, any amount helps, I'm not asking for a significant amount from each individual but whatever you can give it would be greatly appreciated, I've made a ton of mistakes and over the last couple years I've been working towards repairing the mistakes I've made. It's only me now days and my support system is not like it once was, no mom and dad anymore and even adults need help sometimes.
I pride myself on being a man and taking care of business but in this situation I'm not afraid to ask for help, your contributions would mean the world to me. I can't continue to drive without a license, being legal would give me the opportunity I need not only to support myself but to provide more support for my children as well, especially Kaiden, not only that it will also give me the extra income needed to pursue comedy, I don't get paid for doing stand-up, it's a process that takes time and travel expense and often two drink minimums cost me. I thank you all in advanced having faith that you guys would assist me in my journey to better myself.
