Help ERIKA and GERE rebuild their life

Hi! I'm David and this Go Fund Me will raise money for my newly married daughter Erika and her husband Gere.

They're both so giving to their families and their community and now, after a devastating fire, they need our help.

You know that saying "It takes a village"...?

Here's where we need you- our village♡

On August 9th, Erika was at home due to an acupuncture patient's cancellation.

Gere was at work. At 10 AM she heard a pop and saw a shadowy wisp of smoke coming out of a ceiling vent. While trying to identify the source, she opened the fire door to the garage.

There was an immediate explosion and the garage was consumed in fire!!

Thank God she was positioned behind the door and was not injured. Gere was there in under 4 minutes, but what ensued in that short time was total destruction of the garage and extensive smoke damage to the rest of their house and all its contents. The neighbors provided safety while the firefighters worked to put out the fire. A few things are salvagable but most things are a complete loss. There is a little renter's insurance but after the cost of smoke remediation there won't be much of the settlement left.

They can't move back into their home for many many months.

Meanwhile they are staying at an airBnB, both working full time and going thru all the insurance paperwork.

Yvonne and I have started a Go Fund Me account to offer Erika and Gere additional assistance for up-front costs including moving, displacement, and getting set up with the basics.

If you would like to help Erika and Gere we would all be so appreciative !
