Hello. my name is Eric. The house i was renting burned down and i lost everything.This is my baby girl Hermella. I rescued her 4 years ago . We were renting a room in a house in uniondale ny.....we lived in my van ........could not give her up. Things have been very hard on us. After the fire i was left with nothing (no renters insurance) and shortly after that my van died (and i couldnt pay the insurance). Only the clothes on my back and thank God, Hermella.I have no family to help. The Red Cross gave me $200 and 2 nights in a motel. We were on the street for 6 months. I have been alone for a long time. Have been suffering from severe depression since my brother passed away in 2003 from colin cancer (he was 48 and a great guy and my best friend). I had been supporting myself scrapping metal but over the last year the price of metal has lost its value and i lost my business. By some miracle i was able to find a place in connecticut for me and Hemella. But i desperatley need to raise money for rent. The rent is reasonable. The rent is $400 a month and includes use of the back yard for Hermella. I am unable to work at this time. Deppression medications dont work!!!!! and I have a bad leg. I applied for SSI. It can takes 120 days to hear from them. I have been really really struggling for awhile. I am totally out of money and have been living on $194 food stamps given to me a month from social services. If it wasnt for Hermella I would have, well you know, depression sucks and is a very very very real thing. Please i need some help to get my life back. This is a last ditch plea for help. i dont know what else to do. I am AT THE END OF MY ROPE. A year ago i thought the same thing...there was no way out. I had asked for some help and some people had reached out, but i was too proud and embarrassed to respond. Now I am just desperate and embarrassed. Some how i made it through till now, but i have run out of options. You kind folks are my last hope. All i can promise is that i have always been a kind hearted polite and courteous man who lost every every evrything in a matter of minutes.... if by some miracle i can get back on my feet, i will pay it forward. If i can raise some money i can pay a couple of months rent and if i raise enough i can buy a used van and can use it to support me and Mella. Anthing you can give will be helping save my life and for that i send you my love and thank you from the bottom of my heart. Eric
