Dear friends and family,
As most of you know, my brother and I went to Ghana, West Africa last year to study drumming and dancing at the Dagbe Cultural Institute in a small village called Kopeyia. While there, we became great friends with one of the teachers and master drummers who is merely 21 and has a heart of gold. His name is Elike Agbeli.
Elike dreams of having the opportunity to visit the United States not only to see his American brother and sister and experience a new culture, but also for a chance to share his own culture. It is our goal to help Elike get this opportunity.
So, we would like to bring Elike to where we live in both San Francisco and Reno/Tahoe for one month. During his visit we will help him spread his culture by giving drumming and dance classes and some special performances that you are not going to want to miss!
Elike has has successfully obtained his documents to get here, which is a monumental feat in itself, but that is only half the battle. Being two artists ourselves, we are going to need your help in order to fullfill Elike's dream and give him this experience that he deserves. Part of this money will go to his flight from Accra to San Francisco and the rest will go to his expenses while he is visiting.

"Hello friends out there my name is Elike Agbeli. I'm a dance and drum teacher at Dagbe Cultural Insitute in Ghana. I have the same ambition as my father Godwin Agbeli some years back before he passed away. That ambition is to spread the culture of our people through drumming and dancing to the rest of the world. That is my ambition, so as a young master drummer who started drumming when I was two years old, I would like this experience to transmit our Ghanaian Ewe drumming and dancing to you all. I want you to help me by donating some money to help me come to the state. Thanks for your donation."
