Help Drogo Run Again

Hi everyone!
My name is Jessica, and this is my dog Drogo. He is 2 1/2 years old. My boyfriend and I rescued him when he was about 10 weeks old so we're not sure his exact breed (we think he's a Labrador/Jack Russell mix, but who knows exactly?). This is a picture of him on his first day in our lives:
What we do know is that he LOVES to run. We always let him run around in the courtyard of our apartment complex; it's his favorite part of every day. He will just run around in circles as fast as he can until he tires himself out:
This past Thursday, Drogo had an accident. He was outside doing his favorite activity, and out of nowhere he pulled up lame and started howling. My boyfriend was with him, and he rushed over and saw that Drogo was favoring his back right leg. He picked him up and, since I had his car, carried Drogo immediately to the vet. The vet told him that it was probably his ACL, but she wasn't sure, so we scheduled an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon.

The orthopedic surgeon confirmed our fears - it was a torn ACL, and there was also damage to his meniscus. The surgeon recommended a lateral suture to repair his knee, and estimated the cost to be $3650.
It feels weird to be asking people for money, but with our financial situation, it would be difficult to come up with the money on our own. We are both recent college grads with 3 jobs between us and a not-insignificant amount of student debt. I work as a behavioral therapist for children with learning disabilties, which unfortunately is an industry that doesn't pay as well as others. My boyfriend is a year removed from a complete ankle reconstruction surgery and is still working to refill the savings he depleted during his time away from work. I'm not the type of person to go around asking for handouts, but a friend recommended gofundme, and I decided that it's more important to get Drogo the surgery he needs than to refuse the help of others.
He's a smart boy; not only does he love to run, but he loves learning new tricks:
It would mean so much to us (and to Drogo!) if you could help us get his knee fixed up so he can run and play again. The orthopedist told us that we should aim to have the surgery done in the next month, so we are hoping to save up enough by then to get our lil guy all fixed up!
