Help "Don" Felipe's Family
Donation protected
Two days ago we got the devastating news that "Don" (Mr.) Felipe, an incredible, God-fearing man, went to be with the Lord. He served the Granada Christian Education Center in Granada, Nicaragua as one of the campus security guards. He did his job with great love, dedication, and service to the Lord. He was the gentlest spirit you could ever meet. He always made sure to greet us with a meek, gentle smile and a "Dios me los bendiga" (literal translation: May God bless you for me). He always reminded us that he prayed for us, our family, and our ministry. He loved us and we loved him. We hated not being able to be
there to bid our final "hasta luego" (see you later).
Don Felipe died too young, leaving behind a wife and five children, the youngest who is barely a year old. He was the family's sole provider. His wife started looking for a job the day of his death, but with Nicaragua's financial crisis there are really no jobs available.
We are humbly coming to you, our friends, to ask if you would consider joining our family in financially supporting Don Felipe's family to help them get past the financial crisis created by his sudden death. His monthly salary was $200, and God has placed it in our hearts to raise enough money to cover his salary for a year ($2400).
We don't normally raise money for individuals but this man and his family deserve it and need it, especially in this time of national economic crisis for Nicaragua.
We are starting the campaign with a $500 gift from our personal money, plus a $100 gift given by the Cooper family, so we are already at three months funded. We have $1800 left to raise to provide for his family and children for a year. We would disburse the money monthly rather than in one lump sum to ensure that it is used as intended. This is not a ministry fundraiser, but a personal fundraiser so your contribution would be considered a gift rather than a donation (no tax receipt would be generated).
Any money raised above the set goal would go to the family to meet their ongoing financial needs.
