A 15th-Century Dream Restored
Welcome to Château La Galiserie!
Nestled in the charming commune of Sérigny, Vienne, France, our château stands as a breathtaking piece of history—virtually untouched since its construction in the 15th century.
When we, Sean and Lolly, first discovered it, this magnificent estate and its outbuildings were in serious peril, calling for a monumental and passionate restoration. We could never have imagined the wild, yet deeply rewarding adventure that awaited us!
Since purchasing La Galiserie in 2022, we’ve spent the past three years working tirelessly to preserve this slice of French heritage for generations to come. Many of you have followed our journey through Channel 4’s Help! We Bought A Village and our own videos and photos documenting every step of the process.

A Change of Plans and a New Beginning
We had hoped to expand the La Galiserie’s family project when Lolly’s twin brother, Greg, moved here in January 2025 with dreams of purchasing more land and restoring a 300-year-old barn on the property. Unfortunately, the sale was unable to go ahead when the attached farmer was unable to sell the land.
Happily, Greg has since discovered a beautiful local property with three hectares of land, where he’s bringing to life his lifelong dream of creating a “Garden of Distinction.” We couldn’t be more thrilled for him and wish him every success!

Le Projet de Restauration: Gîte Monet
With Greg’s move opening a new chapter, we—Sean and Lolly—are now focusing all our energy on transforming that ancient barn into a luxurious holiday retreat: Gîte Monet.
This project lies at the heart of our mission to restore La Galiserie to its former splendour while breathing new life into its historic charm.
We’ve already made great progress: the architect’s plans are approved, the development tax is paid, and work is underway. True to our style, we—along with Lolly’s son, Charlie—are doing all the renovations ourselves. The painstaking job of picking and pointing the internal and external walls is nearly complete, the first electrical fix is in progress, the slate roof is sound and awaiting a good clean, and we’ve even purchased the kitchen!
