Diane’s Fight against Cancer

Hi Friends & Family,
This is Leah Gaulton (Carlitz), writing to you on behalf of my family. Many of you know that my aunt, Diane Mulholland, who we lovingly refer to as "Auntie", has been battling cancer on and off for the last 10 years. She is now in the middle of another great fight with stage 4 Ovarian cancer. We are believing and praying for complete healing and restoration of her entire body and life.
We also want to come together as a family and loved ones of Auntie and Scot and really help them in their time of need. Would YOU JOIN us?!
I have experienced Auntie & Scot’s selfless generosity and endless love and support as I know many have. They sacrificed so much to support my mom, siblings, and I since my Dad (Diane’s brother) passed away 16 years ago and have continued to do so. They’ve hosted events, bible studies, weddings, and helped many young adults walk through life decisions and transitions with godly wisdom and guidance. They’ve used their financial blessings to bless others and faithfully give back to the Lord. They also both serve in the local church giving their time, talent, and lives to ministering the Gospel of Jesus Christ. If there’s a time we can give back to Auntie & Scot, the time is now.
Some Background & Current Situation:
It was almost 30 years ago that Diane was diagnosed, treated, and HEALED of Ovarian Cancer. She also had two more fights with cancer in 2009 and 2014 and each time came out cancer-free. The cancer came back again in early 2017. After many years and seasons of battling cancer, Diane and Scot decided to once again take an alternative and natural route to cancer treatment as that has helped in the past. They found a “Wellness" center in Palm Desert last year where Diane is receiving Immuno-therapy. This has been helping her fight the cancer and keeping it from overtaking her body and is extending her life.
Both Scot & Diane have been not been able to work for the last few years, Diane because of the cancer and Scot because of back injuries and herniated discs from years of working as a private contractor. Their monthly income from disability and social security has not been enough each month to cover medical costs and regular bills. They’ve spent everything and have incurred a considerable amount of medical debt over the last year. They have been selling/liquidating several belongings and assets as well but the time and energy it is taking to do this has been tolling on both of them as Scot is taking care of Diane daily and a lot of years of passion, ambition and need is reflected in some of these assets. Scot has said they are humbled to be in this position and I know that they believe in and have already experience God’s provision in this journey.
We want to raise funds to help support Diane and Scot with the following:
- Debt from medical bills: treatments, pain management
- Cost of continued weekly cancer treatments in Palm Desert
- Travel for treatments
- Pain medicine and opiates—recently increased by $500 each month above approximately $1k they were already spending. These monthly costs change/increase continually as conditions change. They have found that cannabis oil is quite effective in helping manage Diane’s pain levels and has helped with her quality of life. Recent increase has made it possible for her to sleep and spend more time with minimal pain.
- Any unexpected trips to the ER and/or hospital stays (in the last month, Diane was in the hospital twice for pain and complications with kidneys)
- Needed and outstanding dental work for both Diane and Scot
