For those just tuning in:
Devyn was diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a rare and aggressive childhood eye cancer that required immediate, intensive treatment far from home. To save his life, Devyn ultimately had to have both eyes removed.
His family was forced to relocate suddenly so he could receive lifesaving care, leaving behind their home, belongings, and support systems. For more than a year, their focus was simply survival.
Devyn is now cancer-free, but he is fully blind as a result of the disease and treatment. He now needs to attend a specialized school for blind children so he can learn orientation, mobility, and the skills required to live safely and independently.
This next chapter requires stability, housing, and significant financial support to get the family settled near appropriate educational resources. Right now, there is little structural support in place to help them make this transition.
Over the past year, the family has been managing hospital stays, medical travel, temporary housing, and mounting expenses. This fundraiser exists to help them bridge the gap between treatment and long-term stability, cover basic living costs, and support Devyn’s transition into specialized education and care.
