Hello friends and family,
I never thought I would be writing something like this ever in my life, but here I am. Life takes turns you never expect but I know God is with us in it all.
My Dad (Dean) and his wife Suzanne just lost their house to the volcanic eruption that happened on the Big Island of Hawaii. Their neighborhood was right in the target zone where the lava was flowing, and their house was completely buried under molten rock, leaving NOTHING to their name. All they have are a few items of clothes and a few pictures etc. They were evacuated so quickly that they couldn’t grab much. They had no lava insurance because it is so expensive in that area that they couldn’t afford the monthly payments, so they literally have nothing. No pots, pans, silverware, bedding, furniture etc. They are retired and live on social security which doesn’t pay much.
So many people have been praying and reaching out and we are SO incredibly grateful to anyone who has a heart to help.
Here is the goal: We are trying to raise $100,000 for them to get back on their feet. The tentative plan is for them to leave Hawaii and move to the mainland (where family and friends are), to buy an RV or something like that where they can live and visit kids and family and see where God leads them. At this point they can’t afford even a rental with the social security income they are receiving. We are hoping to buy them an RV or fifth wheel as well as a vehicle that they can own outright and have a little extra for utilities food and small expenses that come up.
So, if you feel led AT ALL to help - even if it’s $10 dollars - they would be SO honored by your generosity. Could you take a moment and pray right now and see if God would give you an amount to give? We would be so blessed to receive your help.
