78 year old Darshan Singh has been ferrying students by his rickshaw since 1960. Darshan is still full of energy and enthusiasm and we still see him ferrying children to the school , no matter how harsh the weather may be. Darshan Singh started bringing kids to Our Lady of Fatima Convent School(Patiala) when he was just 16 , from Sanaur which is 10km away from the school.
As Mr. Darshan is just like a fatherly figure for most of the students , we plan to use the funds we gather from this platform to support Darshan Singh and his family. It would be really great if we gather the funds in a month or two as the old man has been ferrying students on his rickshaw from the past 58 years and despite all his hardwork and sweat , he still leads a miserable and a poverty ridden life.
The support we get for the old man, would mean a lot to us and we would be really grateful for all the help we could get for him . Sometimes, seeing an old man like him working so hard in such a scorching heat makes my own eyes teary . Once again , it would be really great if we could raise the required amount for this noble cause.
