Dana's Recovery

Six months ago my sister, and best friend, Dana Wold, suffered an adverse reaction to a common antibiotic known as Macrobid. Dana had previously taken a class of antibiotics known as "fluoroquinolones" (more commonly known as Ciprofloxacin) about three times in the past to treat a UTI. Dana experienced some mild symptoms during the time she was taking the antibiotic but a couple weeks after, the symptoms became far worse than we could ever imagine. These delayed reactions to fluoroquinolones can happen weeks, months, or even a year after taking them. After several doctor visits we were told she was suffering from "fluoroquinolone toxicity."
Prior to the reaction, Dana was regularly working out at the gym, performing music on stage (doing what she does best) and working full-time. Over the past 6 months she has lost her ability to do all of these things. Her body is currently unable to absorb any nutrients which resulted in a 20-lb weight loss. She's suffering severe visual disturbances, psychosis, de-personalization, joint and bone pain, feeling of tingling in the limbs, severe skin burning, hallucinations, and GI distress; just to name a few of these debilitating side effects from this drug. These antibiotics are capable of mass cell destruction and destroying mitochondria (the power house cells that make up our entire body). They cause widespread bodily damage in different forms affecting the musculoskeletal system and central nervous system.
Fortunately, we were able to find an amazing doctor in California who specializes in these issues and has himself been paralyzed from these antibiotics and healed himself through stem cell therapy.
The doctor is offering her an intense 10 day protocol and detox treatment (IV therapy, laser bed therapy, lymphatic drainage, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and possible stem cell therapy) in hopes to rid the poison that's damaging her body. We are raising money to cover the expenses of this extensive therapy treatment in CA and also to help spread awareness of these dangerous drugs.
Dana plans to leave for California at the end of July to begin treatment. We have had several friends and family members who have reached out to see how they can help. We feel any contribution will be beneficial to her recovery as health insurance will not cover these treatments. We pray these effects will not be permanent and that this will be a huge step in the right direction to her recovery.
