Conard is the kind of man every community hopes to have. A gifted mechanic. A self-reliant outdoorsman. A skilled fisherman. One of the most knowledgeable historians in Colorado. He is steady, capable, generous. The person you call when something breaks, when you need advice, or when you just want to sit by the water and laugh.
And in a single, senseless act of violence, everything changed.
Early in February 2026, Conard was the victim of a brutal stabbing that nearly took his life. He suffered massive blood loss, 7 huge lacerations all over his body and was rushed into emergency surgery. What followed were multiple operations, critical care, trauma therapy and a fight just to stay alive.
This was not an accident. It was a shocking act of violence that has left lasting physical, emotional, and financial scars.
Conard is finally starting to communicate with friends and family. He is alive! He is fighting! But the road ahead is long.
The mounting medical bills, legal fees, rehabilitation costs, and lost income are already overwhelming and there's more to come. Recovery will take time. Time means missed paychecks, therapy, and continued care no one should have to shoulder alone after enduring something so gruesome.
Now it is our turn to show up for him the way he has always shown up for everyone else.
We are asking friends, family, neighbors, and anyone who believes in standing together against violence to rally around Conard during this incredibly difficult chapter. The funds raised will go directly toward his medical expenses, recovery and rehabilitation costs, and the months of healing that he has ahead of him.
Conard is a fighter. He has already proven that. But even the strongest among us need help.
If you can donate, please do. If you cannot, please share. Every contribution and every share sends a message that violence does not get the final word. Community does.
