On January 4th, Cheryl returned home from what had been a wonderful desert trip, only to walk straight into a nightmare. While she was away, her home flooded. As she stepped inside and began to take it all in, she quickly realized how severe the damage was. In some areas, the water had risen nearly eight inches, destroying almost everything in its path.
This wasn’t just a house. This was the home Cheryl shared with her husband, the place where a lifetime of memories were made, holidays, everyday moments, love, and comfort. To see it suddenly damaged and unlivable has been absolutely heartbreaking.
The flooding was caused by a neighbor’s negligence and mismanagement of his property. Unfortunately, Cheryl did not have flood insurance, which means she is now facing the full financial burden of repairing and rebuilding the home on her own. The house is currently uninhabitable and will be for quite some time.
The funds raised will go directly toward:
• Flood damage cleanup and demolition
• Mold remediation
• Flooring, drywall, and baseboard replacement
• Electrical and plumbing inspections
• Making the home safe and livable again
Any amount, big or small, will help ease both the financial and emotional weight of this unexpected loss. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser means just as much.
Thank you for supporting Cheryl as she works to rebuild not just a house, but a home filled with love and memories.
