Second Bone Marrow Transplant x Cesar Briano
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Cesar Briano, a 48-year-old man who is facing a very difficult battle: advanced myelodysplastic syndrome, a serious bone marrow disease that affects its ability to produce healthy blood.
Five years ago, I had already defeated leukemia thanks to a bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately, my bone marrow has now failed again. For some time, I have been living with severe anemia, low defenses, painful cramps, low platelets, and I have received numerous transfusions.
The doctors explained to us that my only hope is to receive intensive chemotherapy to try to reduce the malignant blasts in my bone marrow and gain access to a second bone marrow transplant.
The option with the best chances is available at the University Hospital, where they offered me a more advanced treatment with a combination of medications: cytarabine, mitoxantrone, venetoclax, antifungals, and deferasirox.
We have decided to follow this path because it gives me the greatest chances of achieving remission and surviving, but we must cover a large part of the treatment costs ourselves, including medications, studies, hospitalization, and transfusions.
Every donation, large or small, brings us a little closer to the hope that I can defeat this disease for the second time. If you cannot donate, sharing this campaign also helps us tremendously.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story. Thank you for your solidarity and your love.
With all my heart,
